Juniors

The Billiards & Snooker Association of the ACT (BSAACT) supports the participation of both male and female junior players (any persons under 16 years of age) in the sport of snooker and/or billiards through its Junior Development Program. This program has been implemented following guidelines developed by Sport Integrity Australia in their “Children in Sport” literature. The program is delivered by an accredited coach.

The BSAACT Junior Development Program has adopted the National Principals for Child Safe Organizations as the Child Safe Standards used in delivering the Junior Development Program in Canberra.

JDP is currently conducting training sessions every Sunday afternoon between 1pm and 4pm at the Canberra Southern Cross Club, Woden. The Juniors currently in training range in age from 5 to 13. Parents who have children interested in learning snooker are welcome to come along and talk with the Child Safety Officer (CSO) on Sundays between 1pm and 4pm.

Parents of children and youth wanting to learn snooker and/or billiards are to fill out a BSAACT Membership Application Form and email the completed form to snookerbilliardsact@gmail.com.

Further information for parents registering their child or children in the BSAACT junior coaching program is available here.

Following receipt of the Membership Form, Parents/Guardians would then be contacted and sent documentation as required by BSAACT’s JDP. All documentation must be completed and received by the CSO before any child or young person can be enrolled in the JDP. Once the documentation is received by the CSO, applicants will be offered a place in a current JDP session or an upcoming Coaching Clinic.
